is bulging with 11 highly useful tutorials, detailing techniques for all sorts
of funky effects, ranging from enhancing eye color, to improving vibrancy of
dull photographs, isolating certain colors, and more. Additional
tutorials will undoubtedly follow in the new year too... so watch this space! |

EDITOR'S LETTER
|
Dear Readers,
Hello and welcome to the second BioRUST newsletter! I am happy
to report that Biorust is continuing to go from strength to strength!
Visitor numbers are currently dwelling around the 10k/day mark, and the forums
have never been busier - definitely a bright start for the new year!
Of course, these numbers are still shy of the massive traffic experienced by the
big art networks, but I still regard us as being the friendliest community on
the web... and so far I've not been proven wrong! :D
So... what do we have planned for you in 2006? Well, as I mentioned in my
thread on the subject, I am hoping to have the Battles System up and
running, the tutorials number to exceed more than 250, and to enhance
customization as much as possible by year end. To be perfectly honest,
however, we are making fast progress for these targets already!
Perhaps I will aim for something more ambitious in 2007? Only time
will tell!
Oh, and before I forget, I am happy to announce that we now have 5 new staff
members - Ecntrc,
Heruka, jimmy1012, scrowler, & bedlam123. I already
owe them more than a few free drinks for their help running things!
Well, that's my speech over for this issue. Have a pleasant and productive
Winter, and I'll be seeing you in Spring 2006.

battles are not a new feature to BioRUST, but they are often marred by poor
planning and lack of a judging structure. We have a new system in the
design phase that will change all this, automating the process and allowing
community-based judging. Best of all, its nearly complete too! :D

BioRUST absolutely thrives on user participation! If
you want to write a tutorial for BioRUST, just publish it in the
tutorials forum.
If its good enough, we may even move it to the main pages for you... which get a
LOT of traffic. You retain full credit for your work.
Stuck for ideas? We even offer a
list of subjects for you to get your teeth into... but just make sure
you read the
submission guidelines first.
