At the moment we only accept Paypal (which you can use to process card payments, even if you don't have a paypal account), but others will be added soon depending on the popularity of the subscription idea and ease of integration into our systems. Paypal is well integrated into our site and can offer many advantages such as serverside notifications and automatically recurring payments. Any additional payment processors would need to demonstrate similar capabilities.

Unfortunately we cannot accept foreign currency cheques as they incur substantial processing costs here in the UK. If you live within the EU an electronic bank transfer may be possible, but as this is fiddly and manual by definition we'll only accept such an option for annual subscriptions. As a very last resort we are willing to accept cash in the post, but only if you can pay with Euros, US Dollars, or Pounds Sterling (UK) as your currency. As you can imagine, we cannot guarantee the safety of money sent via the postal system, and will take no responsibility for missing mail. If you accept these risks and still want to use this method, fill in a contact form if you wish to discuss this option further and we will send you details.

Of course! We fully accept that not everyone has the ability to pay for premium subscriptions, and this is why the free membership by its very set-up still offers unimpeded access to all site functions! If, however, you really want to 'go premium' but can't send us fiscal payment, we'll also accept payment in kind. We reward innovative new tutorials generously, and will hand out free months/quarters to anyone who works to enhance our community (whether through forum help, making quality downloads available, or generally combatting spam!).

Your account will automatically revert to a free membership with all its corresponding rights and privileges. If you have a large avatar it will remain at its previous dimensions, but all custom user titles and profile/blog formatting will revert to standard. The customizations are not lost, but simply stored in our database until another premium subscription period is obtained.

As a thankyou for your support, your username will appear throughout the site in bold. This will allows others to see how awesome you are, and possibly serve to enhance your reputation.

Of course! As long as you can pay via Paypal or another approved means, we will send gift subscriptions to any users you desire. If you wish to remain anonymous we will respect your wishes but otherwise we will, of course, PM each user with the happy news and say who to thank for it. Just fill in a contact form if you wish to give a gift subscription and we will tell you how to proceed further. If you are feeling REALLY generous and want to buy five or more 12-month subscriptions, we will match your generosity by lowering the subscription fee to $15 per subscription.

Much like the now defunct 'biocredits' system, the download limit exists to prevent unsavory individuals trawling through our downloads repository and simply grabbing everything in sight, even if they have no intention of using it. As you can guess, this not only slows the server down, but the bandwidth costs can start to get prohibitive for us if it continues. In order to 'throttle' downloads, therefore, we now limit each free member to 5 downloads a day. In order to keep things simple, the server records a tally of downloads, and anyone reaching their limit will be unable to download further resources until the counter is reset. This happens at 12pm (midnight GMT) daily, and the system does not allow credit. Downloads will count even if they are aborted before finishing, so watch your mouse clicks and connection status. If this cramps your style, premium subscriptions do not have this limitation and allow unlimited downloads!

Privacy is very important to us at Biorust. All your personal information is kept secure by our software backend, and protected by strong passwords & encryption. Personally-identifiable information is disclosed entirely at the discretion of the user and very little is actually required to set up a user account. E-mail addresses are required to moderate your account and identify yourself if a password is lost, but these are not disclosed to any third parties nor used to distribute spam. As payment for premium subscriptions is handled via a secure third-party payment processor, we are at no time ever in possession of any of your payment/card details.
